RE/MAX International

25 YEARS of Real Estate History

RE/MAX revolutionized the real estate industry 25 years ago by focusing on the sales representative's professional development, productivity, and income. It was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1973 by Dave and Gail Liniger, who founded a company in which high quality real estate salespeople could realize their business potential.

The name RE/MAX stands for REAL ESTATE MAXIMUMS.

At that time, the real estate world was filled with part-timers and novices that meandered through a few transactions a year and returned half their earnings each year to brokers.

Emphasis on professional designations, RE/MAX satellite training, network communications, leading-edge computer technology, and top- notch globally prominent International Referral and Corporate Relocation systems have strengthened the RE/MAX cause.

RE/MAX was ranked No.1 among US real estate franchise organizations in the December 1995 issue of
Franchise Buyer Magazine.

Premier market presence continues to increase as over 42,000 sales associates, in over 2800 offices worldwide,
are regarded as the most professional and highest-producing group of agents in the residential sales industry. Top notch business leadership, synergy, momentum, and market strength have made all the difference.

The RE/MAX sales associate is an autonomous business person working efficiently in a professional environment. RE/MAX is a huge supporter of the Children's Miracle Network, where creative fund-raising by sales representatives has raised millions of dollars for children in need.

ADVERTISING

RE/MAX is one of the most widely recognized corporate names in the world. Working with PR experts, both in-house and in combination with an independent New York-based agency, RE/MAX is able to dominate the attentions of major media outlets. It has produced advertising at every level of the system, from International Headquarters to Regional Offices to individual sales associates, in order to promote the RE/MAX name and the quality behind it.

Adventures in advertising include the tri-colour RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon, which was adopted as the RE/MAX logo. Destined to rise "Above the Crowd", this emblem brings fun and fascination to many people.

The efforts of individual Sales Associates are remarkably creative and effective. Results of such marketing are successful at bringing increased name recognition and a directly-increased market share of sale activity in a vast number of communities around the world.

RE/MAX offices, both Regional and International, use sports advertising extensively. Banners and signs in hockey rinks, arenas, and stadiums indicate RE/MAXís commitment to sports over many years. Many RE/MAX TV commercials have received featured designations, such as the "Worldís Best TV Commercials" in Australia in 1998.

Technological Advancement includes the efforts of home searching on the World Wide Web (internet) and The RE/MAX Times, which have became part of the RE/MAX home page. Communications and public relations are strengthened continually through the RE/MAX Satellite Network, real estateís biggest newspaper. RE/MAX creates many of its own "video news releases" through this Satellite technological support. The RE/MAX Roster produced a special feature on the dangers of lead paint, which was picked up by many news programs in 1996.

The first-ever Franchise Relations Award was given to RE/MAX by Income Opportunities Magazine.
